A sales development representative or simply SDR is a member of a business’s inside sales workforce, whose job is to ensure customer retention.
Prospecting, outreach, and lead qualification are the core responsibilities of an SDR. The main goals of a sales development rep are to reach out to as many prospects as possible to determine which leads are a good fit for business and which aren’t.
SDRs are often considered as a “link” that connects a business to its prospects. They answer customers’ questions, share important information and resources, and evaluate the future potential of every lead.
Finally, another core mission of a sales development representative is to reveal prospects’ needs and outline further steps needed to retain each customer and ensure satisfaction.
